Have you ever taken your toddler to a hibachi grill restaurant? how'd it go?

My wife and I are debating whether or not to try a hibachi grill (where they cook your meal directly in front of you in a group setting) tonight with our 16 month old daughter.

She generally stays in her high chair when we eat out but has been known to try and climb out.

Not sure if she will be amazed by or scared of the grill, etc. ...

Curious if anyone else has ever tried and how it went if you did.

Thanks.Have you ever taken your toddler to a hibachi grill restaurant? how'd it go?
My husband and I have taken our 14 month old son to a hibachi restraurant several times. The earliest being on his first birthday actually. (it was a family dinner since we live out of state) Anyways my son LOVES the entertainment of the chef...not to mention eatting the delicious food followed my fried ice cream. When they do the flames just scoot her chair back a little...it's not a big deal. Of course they get restless during the whole meal/cooking process but it's more of an entertainment for them then going to a regular restruarant and just waiting for your food to cook and come...it's a learning process for them they get to see different ways to cook food.Have you ever taken your toddler to a hibachi grill restaurant? how'd it go?
Ummm this sounds like such a bad idea. Pay the money for a sitter. I"m seeing screaming and or crying with the off chance things go really bad and she burns herself somehow (unlikely but it flashes through my mind). That place is just not kid friendly. And I've never seen an baby in one of those places when I"ve went. I wouldn't have taken my daughter at that age and now that she's three I still have my reservations.Have you ever taken your toddler to a hibachi grill restaurant? how'd it go?
My wife and I did it and we had a few times we had to make sure that our 2 yr old stayed in the chair. We has a VERY good chef who talked a lot while he was working and the things he did kept us all very entertained.Have you ever taken your toddler to a hibachi grill restaurant? how'd it go?
We took our son at about that age. HE got scared of the fire. Our chef did the thing where the fire shots up off the grill as he begins to cook. Other than that he just liked watching all the bits of food flying as the chef tossed em around hehe. They do wanna get up and explore thigns...My husband held him while the guys cooked and when it was time to eat he was put in his chair. Maybe hodl her on your lap for the "show" and point things out of what he is doing. Then enjoy the meal that was prepared :D
I haven't taken my son to one, but only because we don't have any good hibachi restaurants in our area. Otherwise, I wouldn't hesitate to bring him.

I have gone with my 3 yr old nephew and he was fine.
