What percentage should a waitess have to tip out a hibachi chef that is getting paid a salary?

im asking this because i work at a japanese restuartant and i am american and the tip out for the hibachi chefs for each waitess is 48 percent of our tips is this right thats half of our tips? What percentage should a waitess have to tip out a hibachi chef that is getting paid a salary?
WOW That seems a bit extreme. But if I am correct all you do is bring drinks right? If that is the case and your being tipped for the entire check and the chef is actually serving the food to the guests I guess it could be considered fair. Is it the type of rest, where the chef cooks and does fancy moves right at your table? But I don't really know I've never worked in a resturaunt like that before. Even so though, almost 50% on a salaried employee seems out of the norm. b/c most servers make about 3 bucks an hourWhat percentage should a waitess have to tip out a hibachi chef that is getting paid a salary?
Unless the chefs are performing in front of the customer like in Benihana, they shouldn't be tipped anything. If the chef is performing by cooking the food in front of the customer, then he should be tipped out but the mount mentioned is more than double from what I would expect. The chef is on salary and therefore should be tipped less if anything.
