Do you tip hibachi chef? ?

Went to hibachi place last night. Tipped our waitress well.. But not the hibachi chef. And now I feel kind of bad, b/c I had so much fun and he was great.. What's the custom? Is the waitress gonna split the tip with him?

most hibachi chefs get paid salary and a percentage of the tips. you can also "side tip" a chef if he does an excellent job.Do you tip hibachi chef? ?
I had work at 2 hibachi Restaurant so far in Michigan on call Kobe and One call Fuji Yama.



Chef gets pay salary depending on their skills and if they are part time and full time. they get to keep any side tips if customer give to them. Server in other hand what ever we make we have to give chef 50%
