We just went last weekend for my mother-in-laws 85th birthday and the food was great, it was entertaining and inexpensive. I had the chicken and shrimp and it was like 11 bucks. They bring you the little courses before. The atmosphere is ok a little minimalistic for me but we all had a great time and seems to meet your criteria but IT IS in Arlington.(Trust me I KNOW, I live in Garland) but it beats taking a chance. The place is called Nagoya's on Arbrook, across from the Parks Mall.
