Most places that have both chefs and servers interact with customers, they have an elaborate scheme for sharing tips, usually based on percentage. As a customer, you just tip whatever you feel is appropriate (15% is average) then the staffs do the divvying. You, as a customer, do not need to worry about this.

Back in the day I played a game of money was no object with my friends lol

for example

i would give a 20 dollar tip

and a friend would match or pass it lol

and the end the waiter made like almost 100 dollars in tips off of us alone lol

but shhhhh that was a loooooooooong time ago lol
