Do people barbeque in other countries?

Breaking out the charcoal and grill during the warm months is an All-American pastime. Is this a popular activities in other countries around the world. I know about hibachis in Japan, though it's not quite the same. How about Europe? S. America?Do people barbeque in other countries?

Seriously too, "DO NOT EVER GO TO GERMANY!!!" their food sucks!!!



Also anytime you go into one of the German stores it tastes as though you are eating a cigarette...That's No Joke!

Nearly everyone BBQs (or the equivalent)

Greeks do all the time - kleftiko, Thais have their great Gai Yang (BBQ chicken with sweet chili sauce), Jerk from Jamaica, sates in Indonesia and Malaysia, boerworst from Sth African, the Polynesian Hangi all are examples of the wonderful world of cooking outdoors over charcoal.
