Are they made of wood and polished to look like smooth pebbles?
I think you just have to hold a flame under them. I'm pretty sure, from what I've read, that you don't use an accelerant with it. Try one of those long nosed lighters that you use to light charcoal, or pilot lights with.
I've been searching the web and wiki on how to light a hibachi and I can't find anything on the procedure, so I'm thinking it can't be that hard.
